ALICOR intensifies ongoing talks with the legislature to solicit support for the  Draft Community Radio Sustainability Bill

The Association of Liberia Community Radio has begun intensifying public engagements with members of the 55th legislature to solicit support for the passage of the draft community radio bill.

In 2023, ALICOR submitted the draft bill to the Chairperson and members of the House’s Committee on Information and Broadcasting which was followed by a meeting with Former House Speaker, Bohfal Chambers.

Since then, the leadership of ALICOR headed by Mr. Hector Mulbah has continued to engage the legislature for the speedy passage of the instrument into law.

On Friday, February 9, the President of ALICOR held a fruitful meeting with the new Chairman of the House’s Committee on Information and Broadcasting, Hon. Bernard Benson Blue, and presented a copy of the Bill.

Representative Blue is expected to speak at the 13th World Radio Day Celebration in Bomi County where he’s expected to lay out his plans for the Community Radio Sector of Liberia relative to the bill.
